As we went into last weekend, some residents on Kauai were digesting the plan to get milk. Up for discussion was the 17.5 million dollar Hawaii Dairy Farms project on 528 acres in South Kauai. It is being financed by the for-profit part of Pierre Omidyar's Ulupono Initiative. Despite the talk about the sustainable closed loop system, not everyone is happy about the idea. Kauai-based journalist Joan Conrow was wondering why and has been doing some digging.
